How it works
Become AN Eate Collective member
Fill in your information on our Join Us page. Give us a little bit of information about yourself, your company or personal project, and what you are looking for. Once approved you will receive a welcome call and be given information on how to access our full community.
A new standard of quality
To join our collective you are vetted by a team of individuals in the industry. Unlike Michelin, or the AA Rosette system, the people judging your ability are other collective members who are themselves active in pushing culinary excellence.
Access to genuinely useful networking
People in this industry rarely have time to do anything other than creating or working. Therefore, access to networking put together by people who actually understand what your needs are, is essential. We tailor networking opportunities and events to you and your business uniquely, ensuring you are always in the right room, connected with the right people, at the right time.
COLLABORATION
As collective members you are the first to be involved in new and experimental events put on to showcase your talent. These one-of-a-kind events showcase your brilliant business, as well as allowing you to collaborate with other passionate key players in the industry.
SUPPORT
Whether you need help and advice from other restaurateurs, or information on how your product could be improved from chefs who will be buying your product, joining the collective allows you to access the best of what the culinary industry has to offer.
PASSION
Like you and your business we are a growing collective. We are always ready to listen to the ideas of passionate people, and push to make the EATE community a vibrant place, buzzing with activity.
Badges of excellence
During Covid-19 we delved even deeper into what helps and what hinders individuals in our industry, and identified numerous problems which members of our collective faced. Currently the most coveted accreditations a restaurant can be awarded is the Michelin star system. In conjunction with the questionable level of objectivity applied when awarding stars to restaurants, chefs are starting to refuse their stars or not even seek them in the first place. We at EATE understand that there is a place for Michelin’s star system. It is difficult to rival the history or tradition of such an institution, however what we realised is there is also space for a better system to exist alongside it.
Our system is developed for chefs, by chefs. Unlike the Michelin or the AA Rosette system, the EATE Accreditations are awarded based on the judgment of actual peers in the industry as well as numerous objective points that restaurants of a high calibre simply should fulfill. Your food will no longer be judged by a selection of retired critics and old-school restaurateurs. Instead, with the EATE system, your fellow members - who are themselves active in pushing culinary excellence - will be involved directly in the critiquing process.
Sustainability Certifications
In developing our Badges of excellence, we spoke to many members about what they may want from an accreditation system. Something that repeatedly came up was a way for businesses to show with pride what they genuinely care about. We have a problem in the industry of words such as “Sustainable”, “Local”, “Eco” being used thoughtlessly and meaninglessly by businesses in attempt to gain public favour. This is known as greenwashing. What we found is that our members who do put the effort in to fulfilling those pledges, have no way of differentiating themselves from those business that greenwash and, no way of showing their customers what they are passionate about in the culinary world.
Our Sustainability Certifications can be earnt in all sorts of categories such as local produce, environmental responsibility and much more. This gives your business a mark of further legitimacy and ensures your hard work goes not just into helping our planet but also into helping your brand.
We even offer consultancy help to members if they want to reach these planet-friendly goals but need assistance from trained professionals on how to get there.
